Short Summer Special: The Abundance Paradox

Hey Falcons,

In 2023, we Kinkaid students are each lucky that in a variety of ways, our lives are full. Whether it be our plates full of *healthy* food (thanks, Sage Dining!) or our hearts. But have you ever wondered about the downsides of this abundance? I mean, beyond the fact that a full schedule can get tiring.

Writer David Perell believes abundance is a paradox. Environments of abundance are bad for the median consumer but extremely good for some conscious ones; think about the obesity epidemic in the US. It applies to the digital world too. You can watch Crash Course on YouTube, but you can also watch World Star Hip Hop fights on the loop.

So let’s be mindful about how we utilize the abundance in our lives, whether it be watching videos on YouTube, choosing clubs at Kinkaid, or picking what to eat for dinner.

Stay well,

Eshaan
