Nutrition

Reflect

Think about these questions before moving forward. You can even write them down in a notebook or type them up.

How would I describe my diet?

What does a healthy diet look like to me?

Why is a healthy diet important?

And most importantly before moving forward: am I reading this and learning out of obligation or willingness?

What is Nutrition?

Nutrition is an often-neglected dimension of wellness. Fueling your body with nutritious food is crucial to ensure you perform to the best of your abilities. Diets don’t work. Healthy eating does, regardless of whether you’re a vegetarian, vegan, or non-vegetarian.

The food we eat affects our physical, emotional, and mental health. A well-balanced diet is key to your success in the classroom, in the arts, and on the athletic field. Having a nutritious diet also means longevity, a lower risk of non-communicable diseases, stronger immune systems, and a healthy weight.

Think about things you could add (vegetables, fruits, lean meats) and things you could remove (oils, fats, caffeine, sugars) from your diet.
